Adzhar: 15 years old Stateless Child

Hi, my name is Adzhar, I am 14 years old. I study at Cahaya Learning Centre (CLC). How can I get into CLC? One day, my teachers went to the village where I live and noticed me sitting alone at a shop. So, they asked, "Would you like to go to school?" I said "yes!". Later, I brought my teacher to my home. My mother also said yes. I was overjoyed.

I did not attend the first day of school. was terrified of being scolded with my teacher. So I decided to be brave and went to school the next day. Then I was surprised. I thought I would be scolded, apparently I was not because the teacher was understanding. And apparently there are also many friends I know there. I keep coming every day to learn.

What I like most at CLC is that we are free to do whatever we want to do. I went to many places with my teachers. We were taken to the RDC (Rainforest Discovery Center) and the Crocodile Park. Then, we are also taught to be responsible human beings. We were introduced to leaders and figures like Malala Yousafzai, Che Guevara and Mother Teresa. Until now, I have been studying at CLC for 5 years. Today, I am now one of the alumnis here. At CLC, we have one song that we sing together each day;

Hai, aku Adzhar, umurku 14 tahun. Aku belajar di CLC. Macam mana aku boleh masuk CLC? Pada suatu hari, diorang cikgu-cikguku masuk ke kampungku dan diorang nampak aku duduk satu orang di atas kedai. Jadi, cikguku tanya, kau mahu sekolahkah? aku bilang (1) mahu! Jadi aku bawa cikguku ke rumah. Terus mamaku bilang boleh. Jadi aku sangat-sangat gembira.

Pada hari pertama persekolahan pula aku ndak (2) hadir. Jadi aku sangat takut kalau dimarah oleh cikguku. Jadi besoknya aku pun beranikan diri untuk datang ke sekolah. Terus aku terkejut. Aku sangkakan aku akan dimarah, rupanya ndak juga aku sebab cikgunya baik-baik. Dan rupa-rupanya ramai juga kawan-kawan yang aku kenal di sana. Terus aku hari-hari hadir.

Aku paling suka di CLC adalah kami bebas buat apa seja (3) yang kami mahu buat. Aku dibawa keluar oleh cikgu-cikguku (jalan-jalan). Kami dibawa ke RDC (Rainforest Discovery Centre) dan Taman buaya. Kami diajar jadi manusia yang bertanggungjawab. Kami dikasih (4) kenal tokoh-tokoh macam Malala Yousafzai, Che Guevara dan Mother Teresa. Sampailah sekarang aku sudah 5 tahun di CLC. Sampai aku jadi Alumni Cahaya. Kami di CLC juga ada lagu yang setiap hari kami nyanyi;
